Study Tours for U.S. State-Level Elected Officials to Visit the Eastern Flank of NATO
The Alliance for Global Security organizes study tours for U.S. state-level elected officials to visit key NATO member countries along the Eastern Flank, stretching from the Baltic Sea in the north to the Black Sea in the south. These visits provide an in-depth understanding of NATO’s strategic posture, defense capabilities, and regional security concerns in the face of Russia’s ongoing aggression.
Participants will meet with government officials, national security experts, military leaders, and members of parliament to gain direct insight into the mechanisms that ensure security, stability, and peace in the region. Additionally, they will explore how U.S. investments in NATO, including rotating and permanently deployed U.S. forces, bolster not only European security but also American national security and economic interests.
The program will highlight the tangible results of U.S. contributions to NATO, such as joint military exercises, the deployment of advanced defense systems, and critical infrastructure projects that reinforce the alliance’s capabilities. Participants will also engage with business leaders and NGOs to understand the on-the-ground socio-economic and political impacts of these investments, including their role in deterring aggression, fostering economic stability, and protecting shared democratic values.
The program provides unparalleled access to top-tier leaders on the front lines of many of the global challenges faced in the U.S. Through its curated selection of participating leaders on both continents, the program fosters relationships between U.S. leaders and their European counterparts, reinforcing the importance of transatlantic solidarity, especially in the face of our common adversaries.
By joining these study tours, U.S. state-level leaders will return with enhanced knowledge of European security dynamics, a renewed appreciation for the critical role of U.S. leadership in ensuring the resilience of NATO, and better equipped to advocate for stronger defense initiatives and regional cooperation at the state level.
